Thekla is an established European actress.
She completed 4 years of acting studies at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
Although she is well known for many television and film roles, she started out performing on stage. Her theatre work took her from the Almeida theatre in London to the Salzburger Festspiele. Among her first film roles was Belgian film Everybody Famous, nominated for an Oscar. Her captivating role of Lotte, another Oscar nominated film called Twin Sisters, was her big break. She was Shooting Star at the Berlinale the same year.
In 2022 Thekla won the award for Best Actress at Porto Film Festival for Repression, in 2023 she won the same award for her role in Narcosis.
Narcosis has been received very well and Thekla won Golden Calf for Best Actor
at the Dutch Film Festival. And though not nominated, the film was the dutch Oscar entry for 2023.

Thekla Reuten is firmly established as one of Europe’s leading actresses. She has a Dutch father and an Italian mother. By the age of 17, she joined Amsterdam University of the Arts. Straight after graduating, Thekla landed her first leading roles. Belgian film Everybody Famous was nominated for an Oscar. Ever since she has played in over 60 productions and has been celebrated widely.
Although film and television have become her main focus, she started out in theatre and also loves singing.
She is a strong believer in the power of stories and is currently co-developing various projects.
