Raymond Thiry

Raymond Thiry (1959) is a European actor.

After starring in several prime time Dutch TV series, he takes up the lead in 2006 in the art house film Langer Licht by David Lammers and receives a prestigious Golden Calf-nomination at the Dutch Film Festival. In 2009 he wins this same award for his brilliant work in Winter in Wartime, by Martin Koolhoven and in 2015 he is again awarded, for his role in Blood, Sweat & Tears, by Diederick Koopal. Raymond impresses as Luther in the Dutch crime series Penoza (by Diederik van Rooijen). He also starred in the feature film Wolf (2013, by Jim Taihuttu), and in The Paradise Suite (by Joost van Ginkel), which gets submitted for Best Foreign Language at the Oscars in 2016.

In 2018 Raymond starred in Resistance Banker by director Joram Lürsen, which can be seen on Netflix since June 2019. In this same year Raymond plays one of the leads in the first Dutch spoken Netflix Series Undercover. Also Raymond stars in a new series DOODSTIL, a spin off around his popular character Luther.

In Germany Raymond stars as lead character Maarten S. Sneijder in the German TV films Todesfrist (2019), and Das Todesurteil (2021). Based on the bestsellers of Austrian writer Andreas Gruber.

December 2022 Raymond will star in the European series THE NET. He plays the role of Jean Leco, the President of the World Football Association.

In 2023 Raymond appears in the Netflix series FERRY. A prequel of the popular series UNDERCOVER and will the feature film THE MAN FROME ROME have its release.
