Leona Philippo is an actress, presenter, singer-songwriter and singer with Jamaican roots.

During her study at the Rotterdams Conservatorium, she goes to Los Angeles to record an debut album. After the third year, Leona decides to leave school and is asked by the Nits to join the Wool Tour in 2000. With this tour she performs through whole Europe and also performed together with Arling & Cameron and Junkie XL in Tokio. In 2007, together with producer Jonas Filtenborg, she records a new cd-album with the name Leona. And in 2010 Leona shines on the Dutch stages with her new cd-album Strut it.

As actress Leona appears in several Dutch television series and in Feature films as Phileine zegt sorry, Johan and Wild Romance (2006, Jean van de velde). She won the second edition of The Voice of Holland in 2013 and participated in the popular Dutch television program Beste Zangers van Nederland. Also, Leona won the conductors contest Maestro.

Leona presented the Dutch Music show Als ik je weer zie, Night of the Proms in Ahoy Rotterdam and Ted X Women. Next to these activities, Leona is an ambassador of Kinderfonds Mama’s.
